I offer comprehensive doula care for all birth experiences—hospital or home, medicated or unmedicated, vaginal or cesarean. My goal is to help you get evidence-based, individualized care that honors your goals, preferences, and wishes to help you have the safest and most satisfying birth experience possible.

What I provide:

  • Insurance-Covered Services: I’m an in-network provider for Medi-Cal, Partnership Health Plan and Kaiser Permanente. Most clients pay nothing out of pocket for prenatal visits, labor support, and postpartum care. Learn more about what your insurance covers here.

  • The Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class: the childbirth class for families who want to enter birth informed and prepared with the evidence. Learn comfort measures, risks and benefits of interventions and tools available to you in childbirth, advocacy, and so much more.

  • Prenatal and Birth Doula: Become the most informed, confident and ready-to-birth version of yourself. I offer prenatal preparation for birth and support during labor and birth, including planned cesarean birth.

  • Postpartum Doula Care: I support healing, feeding (chest/breast/bottle), infant care, emotional wellbeing, sibling adjustment, and more, offering grounded, nonjudgmental support in those early weeks.

Client Testimonials

“Maggie is the sweetest soul and was the perfect addition to my postpartum experience. I have had a uniquely tough pregnancy and postpartum, and Maggie was the kindest and most supportive person to have by my side. She’s knowledgeable, passionate, and a down-to-earth doula. I felt immediately comfortable with her, and she was there for whatever I or my family needed. Highly recommend her and would use her again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Maggie!”

— Angeline

“Working with Maggie was the best decision I made for this pregnancy and I wish I had found her for my first! She is calm, patient, and intuitive. In what can be a chaotic time, she senses when to take the lead or step back. She’s a wonderful listener and helped create a birth plan that reflected my goals without judgment.
Even as a second-time mom, I learned so much more due to her guidance. Maggie is deeply connected with many local hospitals and staff, and her communication was outstanding — she checked in regularly, followed up promptly, and was always reliable. Maggie truly loves her work, and it shines through everything she does. I would recommend her to anyone who is pregnant and would love to work with her again.”

“Maggie is a remarkable human being and Doula! With my planned C-section, I wasn’t sure how a doula would be able to support my experience. Before my son’s birth she provided a whole binder full of helpful resources and an easy template for creating a birthing plan. At the hospital before my surgery she was a wonderful advocate and made sure all my providers were on the same page. Her calming presence, along with the grounding exercises she lead, helped me go into my birth in the right headspace. In the post-op room she was there to help my baby boy get a good latch right away. Breastfeeding has been such a positive experience and I have Maggie to thank for that! I always looked forward to her visits as she is a true baby whisperer. Maggie was super supportive with tasks like nail trimming, pumping, bottle feeding, bathing, and holding the baby so I could tend to myself. I can’t recommend her highly enough!”

Welcome! My name is Magdalena, and I offer doula support and childbirth education in Sonoma and Marin counties. I primarily provide doula services through Kaiser Permanente, Partnership Health Plan, and Medi-Cal health insurance plans. I also offer the complete Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class in both group and private formats.

I believe that birth can be a normal physiologic process, but no birth is predictable or risk free. Every birth unfolds in its own way, and my role is to walk with you through the intensity of it all by providing education, advocacy, and compassionate care at every stage. Doula support includes three aspects of care: mental, emotional, and physical.

Read more about me and my birth philosophy here.

I prepare my clients mentally for birth and postpartum by providing up to date, evidence based information and supporting them in making choices that feel right for them. This includes discussing unexpected scenarios and how to remain an active participant in your own care throughout the process. Emotional preparation involves helping you connect with your intuition, offering a listening ear for anything that arises during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and supporting the spiritual aspects of birth. Physical preparation supports your best chance for a smooth, efficient vaginal birth if that is your goal, as well as a smoother postpartum recovery. I am currently training to become a Body Ready Method® Pro.

Postpartum doula support follows the same holistic principles and focuses on supporting your transition into parenthood, navigating changing family dynamics, breastfeeding and lactation, newborn care, and more.

There’s no gold standard for birth, only the version that feels safest, healthiest, and most aligned for you. No birth is a failure.

I support all birthing people, including queer, trans, and nonbinary parents in their unique family building journeys. As an ally to Black and Brown people, I’m dedicated to dismantling systemic racism in birth work.
